Century backs local motorsport

Australia's oldest battery manufacturer has given local motorsport a huge boost by becoming the official battery supplier to the V8 utes series and Team Bray Racing.

Century Batteries' technical sponsorship programme will involve supplying all 32-race vehicle with a high-quality, performance battery at every event on this year's race calendar .

According to Allan Woodford, marketing manager in the automotive division, it's all about a strong brand heritage, proven product range and over 80 years of Australian manufacturing expertise.

Century is also supplying Team Bray Racing with performance batteries for their racecars and fleet of support vehicles.

Victor and Ben Bray compete in the Australian Top Doorslammer championship where the car hit speeds of 245mph in covering a quarter of a mile in 5.91 seconds, cemented them as the leading names on the race circuit.

"We have made significant financial investment in the Century brand and our Queensland manufacturing and technical facility over the past few years to ensure our product range continues to meet and exceed the increasing needs of the market place," said Allan.

"The partnership with two of the best-known and exciting Australian motor sport race teams highlights the confidence they have in the performance of the products and the Century brand."
