Continental wins top UK award
Continental has been being named Manufacturer of the Year 2009 by the UK-based National Tyre Distributors Association (NTDA) at its annual awards ceremony in London.
In what can be seen as a major double hit at the event, the company also took out the industry advertising campaign award for its "Great Days Out" promotional campaign.
The Manufacturer of the Year Award was in recognition of the latest generation of truck tyres with leading fuel saving technology such as the ContiSeal, puncture resistant car tyre and the revolutionary CSEasy solid industrial tyre that can be fitted without a mounting press.
"As well as delivering the highest quality products to its customers, Continental also prides itself on working closely with retailers to understand and improve their business," said managing director for Continental, David Smith. (pictured on right receiving award from NTDAs Peter Gaster)
"Our approach helps retailers to win new customers, increase profitability and improve customer service and therefore retention.
"With this approach, Continental adds real value to the customers business which is particularly important in the current climate."
Continental UK's biggest ever consumer promotional campaign "Great Days Out" was launched in March with 300 outlets across UK and Ireland using a special website with 'great savings on a range of activities' including family activities from a website that was inundated with hits from a brand new audience.
