Lincoln Electric Power MIG 180C
Since its release in the US, Lincoln Electric Power MIG 180C has become a firm favourite with body shops, mechanics and the racecar industry with most of the large Nascar teams having adopted the compact, portable units to perform about 90% of their welding requirements.
This 'mighty mouse' of mig welding is now available here in Australia.
The Power MIG 180C is said to deliver the widest welding output range in its class (30-180amps), can MIG weld from 0.5-5mm sheet metal in a single pass and up to 12mm steel using self_shielded wires.
According to company spokesman David Gable, the unit is spool gun ready for high wire speed aluminium welding, spot timer compatible and features the quality-build you'd expect from Lincoln Electric.
"The diamond core technology provides a wide voltage 'sweet spot' to make starts easy and tuning in setting a breeze," he said.
"Producing low spatter for less clean up, this technology delivers results on aluminium, stainless steel and mild steel.
"There are no complicated add on modules and multiple connections to machine, it's plug in and go".
A dual gear-drive, cast aluminium drive block ensures rigid wire alignment and positive wire traction without crushing, birdnesting and wire slip.
"The large enclosed industrial drive motor delivers plenty of torque and prevents grinding dust compromising the motor and the brass-to-brass gun connections ensure quality connections over the long_term," said David.
